Create a Newsfeed Without a Blog

Ever wanted to fake a blog? Communicate without choosing a color scheme? RSS comes to the rescue. As a rule, newsfeeds are created when someone publishes information to a web page. Subscribers to the feed then get the info in their reader without needing to visit the originating website. While I am sure that there is no immediate danger of websites becoming obsolete, it is possible to generate a feed without a website to back it up. An example of a service that does this is FeedXs. Users of the service can create a feed through an interface similar to web-based e-mail. An interesting feature of FeedXs is the ability to update a feed through MSN Messenger by adding the FeedXs robot to your buddy list. It is always interesting when someone uses an existing tool to do a new thing, and allowing people to use the tool of their choice to create newsfeeds will do a lot to push RSS into the mainstream.
